Hi, I'm Gabby. I love the Leafs and being patriotic. I also like the Oilers, Penguins, and Ducks. Luke Schenn is my favourite player, Nikolai Kulemin is my favourite Leaf. I cry over Jordan Eberle's perfection a lot and I aspire to live on a wheat farm in Saskatchewan

The Hockey Sweater (Le Chandail de Hockey in French) by Roch Carrier, is a book considered an iconic work of Canadian literature published in 1979 . The short book (originally published under the title Une abominable feuille d’érable sur la glace/An abominable maple leaf on the ice) tells the story of a young Carrier, a big fan of the Montreal Canadiens and their star player Maurice Richard and the day he was mistakenly sent a Toronto Maple Leafs sweater. A line from the book (We lived in three places - the school, the church and the skating rink - but our real life was on the skating rink) is featured on the Canadian $5 bill. A girl is also pictured playing hockey in a No. 9 sweater like the one in the story. When the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Toronto in 1991, this book was offered to them among a selection of children’s books for Prince William. It was turned into a short film in 1980.
